Recap of the Week

This week was kind of an interesting one.

Tuesday, I went to work to learn that this 60 year old woman that I work with was hit by a car the night before in the Shop n Save parking lot. Don't worry, she's fine. However, I find it amazing that someone would be driving so careless in a parking lot to hit a pedestrian. And, I would just write this off as a crazy mishap by the fabulous patrons of Shop N Save, but then Mandy Shutt informed me that she was almost hit in the Kohl’s parking lot the same day!

Wednesday, Mindy and I met some people out at the fair. We spent a good portion of the night with people from WQLZ, which was kind of fun b/c they gave us free beer and let us getting on the radio. I have to admit, that I am quite sad that Mindy will be leaving for Nebraska in a few short weeks. Hopefully everything works out well for her and Barnett. I hate to admit this, but on my way home I stopped at the Sandbar by myself. I’m not sure why, but Sonia decided to leave the bar open until 2. Yes, I know that it is sad that Hillary and I know the bartender by name. But, this is only b/c we are the only semi decent people in there, so the bartender clings to us for sanity. (I have to admit that this isn’t saying a lot b/c I have been known to go there in clothes that I otherwise wouldn’t be seen in public in, but whatever.)

Thursday, I slept in quite late and didn’t really do a whole lot at work. Surprise, surprise.

Friday, we played checkers and drink beer at work. There will be a few things that I miss from my job. However, the good do not outweigh the bad. Also, I got busted out for hanging out w/ Marc, my former boss. Somehow, one of my co-workers (who is about as shady as they come) found out that Marc knew about my acceptance to graduate school. I didn’t really have an answer for that, but later I wished I just said “that’s b/c I called him immediately since he wrote a nice recommendation letter for me.” I also went to dinner w/ Kate, Nikki’s best friend. Ironically enough, Nikki got pissed about this. After this, I went and played poker and actually one $4.

Tonight, I think I might go to the fair again. Not quite sure though since I don’t really have any friends in town that will go.

Tomorrow and Monday, my mom and I are heading to Chicago to visit my campus and find an apartment. Hopefully, I find something under $700. Let’s all cross our fingers.
