Halloween + Boys Town = Craziness

We got our final midterm grade back today, and none of us did all that well. So, Jen decided we all need to make more of an effort to study throughout the quarter. She decided that we should meet at a Caribou coffee shop on the corners of Halsted and Cornelia. She mentioned that there would be a parade there later in the evening, so we could watch it for a break. I have never really seen a Halloween parade, but I just assumed it would be full of little kids in costumes or something. However, when I began walking there at 4, I realized that I was in the heart of Boystown and that this probably wouldn't be the type of Halloween parade I originally pictured. And, I was definitely right. At about 6, all sorts of interesting people began pouring into Caribou. It was honestly a horrible place to study tonight, and we really got very little done. We decided not to watch the parade after all b/c it was raining yet again (swear to god it rains here like 4 times a week). But, I managed to catch the tail end of it on my way home. Very interesting to say the least and I stuck out like a soar thumb. I can't really describe it all, but I'm sure you can imagine. The only thing that I found really disgusting was the fact that people had their children out in the middle of all of it. Seriously people, what are you thinking.

On a Sidenote: I got my answer to where kids trick-or-treat in the city; apparently it's the Caribou coffee house and the 7 Eleven.
