Who Dey

Jen is a friend of mine from Cincinnati, and thus, she is a huge Bengals fan. So, we went to Kendals yesterday to watch the game with some of her friends. Although I'm a Bear's fan, it's very fun to watch the Bengals. Everyone in the bar dresses up, and everytime something good happens, the whole bar breaks into the Who Dey chant. Pretty amusing. I guess the Bengal fans are incredibly loyal since the team was so bad for so long. Apparently they were so bad that the city filed a law suit against the team's owners for not trying to make a competitive team. So, they hired a new coach and the city forgave them.

Fortunately, they won with 1 second left, otherwise my crew would have been in a very poor mood. We started drinking yesterday around 12 and didn't quit until 7 or so. We stayed at Kendals so long that our waitress kept brining us free shots. Actually, she was doing them with us which was kind of funny since she told me earlier in the day that she was struggling b/c she was so hungover.

I just wish your Bengals would play my Falcons!

Actually I think most of the Bengals you see now are pretty fair-weather. Two years ago they were giving tickets away with happy meals. Now you'll pay 60$ for tix on a shitty day. I'm sure there are plenty of die-hard fans as with any team, but I sure didn't see 10% of the orange and black I see today a couple years ago.
