New Years

New Years Eve was actually quite fun this year. I’ve never been a big fan of the Holiday because it usually turns out uneventful and is often filled with drama. This year managed to be drama free, and I was surprised with how fun it was considering we didn’t plan anything definite until that afternoon.

Nikki and I headed to Chicago on Friday night, and after a long drive, unpacking, and an hour spent parking neither of us were incredibly gung hoe on going out. So, we stayed in and drank Dow’s beer (thanks for leaving it in the driveway) and a couple of bottles of wine while watching Sex in the City. Speaking of Sex in the City, at some point on our trip up we decided to pull over and get out my laptop to watch some episodes I still had on my computer; this made the trip 100x better since I was stuck in traffic from Joliet on.

Since the two of us drank so much, we were quite unproductive the next day. Actually, I was pretty rough for most of the day. But I put my game face on and Nikki, Kate, & I went to dinner in Greek Town and then Nik and I went to a party that her sister was throwing. Eventually, we met up w/ everyone else at the Lion’s Head & Apartment. We had to pay $60 to get in, but it was free drinks from 8-11. Even though Nikki and I didn’t get there until 9:30 I’m quite sure we drank our $60 worth. The night wasn’t incredibly eventful, but it was a lot of fun and I think the majority of us made out w/ someone at midnight. O, and apparently I was flirting with this married guy. Honestly, I don’t really think I was flirting with him that bad, I was just talking to him about school since he also goes there. Anyways, after a couple minutes his wife leans across the bar, hits me, and tells me to back off her husband. I’ve really got to start looking for the rings right off the bat. O well, you live you learn.
