I’ve never really known my mom to spend money on unnecessary items, or to encourage me to. However, I went shopping with her all afternoon and I guess times have changed. Maybe it’s the influence of What Not to Wear or perhaps it’s the influence of her new man Bill. Either way, it’s kind of interesting. And, she is becoming more trendy and enjoys shopping in decent stores. I just wish I could’ve talked her into buying me these shoes from Aldo.
So, apparently I’m playing soccer now. Ever since undergrad I have thought about joining a rec. soccer league, but of course never did it. A couple of weeks ago, I randomly asked Nida drunk if she wanted to play soccer with me. Nida, being the spontaneous person that she is, jumped at the suggestion and left me in charge of finding a team. Of course, I didn’t really look into it and never really believed we would get it accomplished. But, yesterday we were both bored in class so we searched online and found a team on Craig’s List (which I’ve come to learn is a very handy tool). Anyways, the team emailed us back today excited that we would join. Nida talked to them several hours ago to make sure they knew we sucked and they ended up inviting us to join them tonight for drinks. Looks like we might be making some new friends. My first game is Saturday kids, and I am absolutely in pitiful shape. Should be interesting.
