Talk Derby to Me

As I said before, Saturday morning I was quite tired and really wanted to take a nap. But, Jen and her crew were throwing a derby party and she informed me she would be mad if I bailed. (Side note: apparently horse racing is a big thing in Ohio- I wonder if Study, Layne, or Scott does this?)

So Kate, Marcy, and I headed over to Pete’s around 4:30. The party was quite fun and definitely a new experience. I guess if we go next year, I'll have to buy a hat. I placed a bet on #13 Bluegrass Cat, who managed to rally in the end and come in 2nd. But, second is the first loser, and I won no money. I might mention that I chose this horse b/c Trisha did, and she asked her dad who to bet on. In actuality, she did ask here dad, but he told her to bet on Barbaro, which is the horse that placed first. O well, it was only $5. After the party a bunch of went to Salukis and then Kate and I met some more friends in Lincoln Park. I love that we can go to a completely new bar every week; definitely different from Springfield. One of them was and Irish bar and it had some old guy singing Irish folk songs. Very interesting.
