Remember back in high school Spanish class when we had to memorize those obnoxious “Greeting” dialogues that no real person would ever use? Well, I decided today that maybe they weren’t as unrealistic as I previously thought. I feel like every morning I have the same “greeting” dialogue, unless I actually know the person.
Person 1: Good morning.
Person 2: Good morning. How are you?
Person 1: I’m fine. How are you?
Person 2: I’m fine too, thanks for asking.
Of course there are minor variations to this scenario, but you get the gist. It is so annoying. This is why I don’t talk to people in the morning, and then I get called antisocial or ‘not a morning person’ (which is true, but still). I think I might like these names better than this social exchange.
