kind of weird when you think of it like that. I think this has been the most unique birthdays I've had, and it's for reasons that I never expected. I suppose the whole day really started when Andrew called at 10:30 Tuesday night to see if I was out already or wanted to go out. Perfect timing- I was pulling onto my street after driving home from Evanston (yes, I already missed it- really I had diner w/ Leticia, her dad and Dahlberg, which was quite nice). Anyways, Andrew being the gentleman he is volunteered to come up to my neighborhood and so continued the last 2 weeks I've had of experiencing new bars. We began at Matilda's. I think interesting sums this bar up perfectly. You kind of have to see it yourself, but on a whole, it was laid back and there were like 3 other people there. So, we moved onto Halsted and Becca I can now confidently show you around the neighborhood (apparently Spin is more of a lesbian bar than anything). We walked into Cocktail which had male strippers and then into Sidetracks, which was cool but dead. We settled on Roscoes which had about everything you could ask for in a bar; I really liked it. Again, I spent the majority of our time there people watching, but apparently this is more than acceptable according to Andrew.
The day of my birthday was quite nice. All I did was go tanning, work out, and watch Lost. That evening a small group of us went to Greek Islands for dinner and then Jen and I met Trisha and Pete, whose birthday was the 14th, out for drinks. I didn't get really drunk, but I was good to go thanks to all the Greek wine and the birthday shots Pete and I decided to by ourselves in celebration (since the sisters were arguing again- either over Christmas presents or Trisha's car or something equally dumb). And that was pretty much my night- no crazy stories for a change.
And, for the first year that I can remember, it did not snow on my birthday. In fact, it was 40 and sunny. Absolutely fabulous.
