CTA

In the past I have made several different comments stressing my irritation with the CTA. And while all of those points are true, I am glad that at least the city does have a fairly reliable system, which is more than can be said about many other cities. However, today I read a fairly amusing observation that someone wrote into the RedEye. For the past several months 90% of the El cars have been missing the maps inside. Although this is not usually a huge issue to me, it would've been a year ago, as I'm sure it is to others. The person who wrote the letter said that she has emailed the CTA several times to inform them of the problem, and they asked that she report specific car numbers--- to which she replied for them to simply get on any red/brown line. The funny part is, all of the cars magically had maps and a new washing come Monday morning. Why, you may ask? The Olympic Committee was here of course.

On another note, yesterday was officially Jennifer Hudson day. How nice. What if one day there is a Deborah Westfall day. I think that will be my new aspiration in life.

Also, it is still snowing here. I hear the southerners are enjoying 60 degree weather. I feel like St. Patty's day will be the turning point in our weather, which is one of the reasons I'm looking forward to it so much.
