9-5?
So, yesterday was mildly interesting, but I ended up being here till 9:30. I did video tape a lot, but it was not limited to focus groups. I started the video tapes for all the focus groups, but then Liz and I went out and did "man on the street," which involved asking random people to answer our travel questions for a $5 Starbucks gift card. Of course this wasn't a very appealing incentive to anyone (especially since we were looking for business people) and we got little useful information. Liz then called another girl who was doing it (an IMC grad from last year) and she said that she was telling everyone they were grad students. So, we then walked around Millennium Park and asked people to help us for our school project. Highly unethical, but very effective. It's amazing how much more willing people are to help students than actual marketers. However, one lady made us tell her where we were going first to make sure she was ok with the school--- apparently Northwestern passed. Everyone told us we sounded very professional and that we would make very good marketers one day.... made me laugh.
