Parking

You know it's been cold out when you everyone is grateful for it to be 25 degrees out. Speaking of cold, either I'm getting sick or our heat isn't working well. I'm freezing.

One of the things I dislike about living in the city is parking, but not necessarily for the same reasons I used to. I actually don't typically have problems finding parking anymore, or at least not like I did when we first moved up here. However, I don't particularly like parallel parking in the snow; the crunching of the snow makes it difficult to tell when you've actually hit the car behind you (which I kind of just did but you should see how small of a spot I squeezed into). Another issue with street parking would be "losing your car." A couple of weeks ago it had been so long since I had driven that I honestly had no idea where I had parked. Thankfully though, Kate happened to park right in front of me. This whole "losing" issue becomes an even greater concern after a night of heavy drinking. Saturday morning, hungover as hell, I had to run up to Evanston for something. Mind you, I made the whole trip without a hitch, but this morning when I needed my car I realized I had a slight problem. I honestly could not remember where the hell I parked my car. It took me awhile, but I finally decided it was on the street next to mine so I wondered up and down until I found it. I might mention that this process was a little more difficult since every car was covered in 5 inches of snow, so they all sort of looked the same anyways. Fun times, fun times.
