36 doctors began a 40-hour operation on a 2-year-old born with 8 limbs today in India. Lakshmi, the patient, was born attached to a headless conjoined twin that stopped developing in the womb. Many people in the little girl's village believe she is a reincarnated Hindu goddess.

So far her surgery has been going quite well. She has an 80% chance of survival. Doctors have to perform one surgery at a time removing extra limbs, organs and other body parts.

Lakshmi's parents kept her in hiding for 2 years, because the circus tried to buy her! Those circus people! You can't trust them.

It's actually refreshing that people in her village see her as a goddess. If she lived here, she'd be on the Maury Povich show. Viva Goddess Lakshmi!
